Miradouro de Santa Luzia

This iconic viewpoint is one of the most romantic spots in Lisbon. With its tiled walls, bougainvillea flowers, and panoramic view over Alfama’s rooftops and the Tagus River, it creates an incredibly dreamy setting for photos.

Early morning sessions are a must to avoid crowds, but mostly because the sunrise is magnificent.

Alfama’s Historic Streets

The narrow streets of Alfama are full of charm and character.

Colorful houses, old doors, traditional balconies, and quiet little corners create the perfect backdrop for authentic and intimate photos. Walking through Alfama during a photoshoot feels like stepping into a romantic story.

Praça do Comércio

This grand square by the river offers a more elegant and cinematic atmosphere. The beautiful yellow buildings and the open view of the Tagus River create a timeless setting.

It’s perfect for couples who want something iconic and dramatic.

Estrela

It is one of Lisbon's most charming and romantic neighborhoods. The area offers a beautiful mix of scenery, from elegant architecture to peaceful green spaces.

It is especially beautiful in the late afternoon and at sunset, when the light becomes warm and golden.

Bica Funicular

For a truly Lisbon-style photoshoot, the famous Bica street is a fantastic choice. The traditional yellow tram climbing the hill creates a playful and cinematic scene.

It’s one of the most recognizable views in Lisbon and adds a lot of personality to engagement photos. Morning sessions are best to enjoy the quiet.

Bélem Tower

If you're dreaming of iconic Lisbon views, Belém Tower is a beautiful choice. With the Tagus River, elegant architecture, and plenty of open space, it creates a timeless backdrop for engagement and couple sessions.

Best time: Sunrise.

Because it's right on the river, the sunlight becomes very harsh quite quickly, making it difficult to achieve soft, flattering light. It's also one of Lisbon's most popular tourist attractions, so it fills up fast after the morning hours.

The good news? The area has recently been beautifully renovated, making it even more photogenic than before.

The Coast of Sintra

For couples looking for something wild and adventurous, the Sintra coastline is one of my favourite places in Portugal. Dramatic cliffs, hidden beaches and endless ocean views make it perfect for cinematic, editorial-style photos.

Some of my favourite locations include Praia da Ursa, Praia da Adraga, and the surrounding coastal viewpoints.

Best time: end of afternoon / Sunset.

The warm evening light transforms the cliffs into golden tones and creates a much softer atmosphere than during the middle of the day. Besides being more flattering for photos, the temperatures are also much more comfortable, especially during the summer months.

If you don't mind a little walk and want breathtaking scenery, this is one of the most magical places for a couple session in Portugal.
