Carie, a dear family friend and one of the strongest women I've ever known, has faced numerous battles with unwavering courage and an infectious smile that lights up any room. From overcoming violence to serving in the army and battling cancer, Carie's journey is a testament to her indomitable spirit and unwavering determination. Despite the challenges, she not only persevered but thrived, achieving remarkable milestones in her life. Fate intervened when Micka, drawn by Carie's warmth and hospitality, booked a room in her Airbnb. What started as chance encounters blossomed into a deep and profound love. Carie, with her trademark strength and grace, meticulously organized every detail of their wedding, creating a day that was as beautiful as it was meaningful. As fate would have it, their wedding marked my return to Europe and my first photography assignment back home.
