Laurence & Maria got married in Lisbon, Portugal

Laurence, from Quebec, and Maria from Brazil, met three years ago in Lisbon. Laurence was there on vacation, and their connection was immediate, leading to a long-distance relationship that spanned continent.

For over a year, Laurence made frequent trips to Lisbon, supported by her friends and family, despite the challenges of maintaining a relationship across such a distance. Their love proved strong, and after a year and a half, they decided to get engaged.

This began a stressful period of navigating visa requirements, gathering documents, and proving their relationship's authenticity. But their determination paid off, and they were able to plan an intimate wedding, bringing together friends and family from their respective countries.

Capturing their wedding was an honour. Witnessing the meeting of their families and friends, and the merging of their cultures, was truly special. This experience also marked my first LGBTQ+ wedding, making it a memorable milestone in my career.
